This year's Medicare open enrollment will begin on October 15th and run through December 7th.

To ensure that you and your family members have access to the wide range of benefits available through Medicare, you can act now to take advantage of a number of options for coverage including:

Changing from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage Plan, or from Medicare Advantage Plan to Original Medicare.
Switching from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another.
Switching from a Medicare Advantage Plan that doesn't offer drug coverage to one that does.
Joining a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.
Switching from one Medicare Prescription Drug Plan to another.
Dropping Medicare prescription drug coverage.
You can look into your specific options with Medicare's "Find a Plan" feature and if you need assistance enrolling in or changing your Medicare coverage, I urge you to contact APPRISE -- Pennsylvania's free Medicare counseling service - at 1-800-783-7067.

And -- it is important to note that Medicare Open Enrollment is separate and distinct from Marketplace Open Enrollment at healthcare.gov, which will begin November 15th for those people not eligible for Medicare coverage.
